Period Uniforms

One of the uniform collections on display in the museum. this one belonged to a Lt Tachauer. Note the immaculate one piece Sidcot suit. This forerunner of modern flight jackets was highly prized by aircrew of both sides.

Another of our rare uniform collections are those that belonged to Lt. R P Bourne. The display depicts his uniforms from joining the Royal Flying Corps to the formation of the Royal Air Force on April 1st, 1918. Then, on returning to Canada, the uniform of the short lived Canadian Air Force of 1919-1923, the forerunner of the RCAF.
